Why is it necessary? reservation train tickets via the Internet? Of course, it is much more convenient to simply instantly purchase train tickets in the desired direction.

However, there are times in life when a passenger has not decided on the need for a trip or a specific date. That’s when a service such as booking train tickets through the World Wide Web will come to the rescue.

Booking methods

It is perhaps difficult nowadays to find a person who likes to wait in line. But buying train tickets is almost always associated with in bursts at railway ticket offices at any time of the year.

In many countries, thanks to the development of the Internet, it has long been possible to book and buy a train ticket without leaving your home or office.

This service is very popular among business people who do not accept the loss of time for such useless standing in line, when 24 hours of the day are sorely lacking in our hectic age. And an ordinary housewife living on the other side of the city from the railway station hardly wants to lose half a day to buy tickets for a planned trip. With the ability to book from home, this can be done in just a few minutes. To do this you need:

  • Availability phone or Internet with suitable equipment (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.);
  • Choose departure station;
  • Choose arrival station;
  • Decide on date of travel.

Using booking, you can pre-order, that is, reserve, seats in the desired direction. Booking does not oblige make payments instantly.

There are several ways to book train tickets.

Through the Internet

This is one of the fastest and most accessible methods. Using a search engine, you can easily find sites on the Internet that provide ticket booking services. You will only need to enter the following in the proposed order form: data:

  1. Personal data the intended passenger;
  2. Itinerary;
  3. Train number;
  4. departure date;
  5. Selecting a location.

The order is confirmed via email. Making such a reservation takes about 15 minutes on average.

By phone

This method is also simple and has few differences from the previous one. If in the first method you “communicated” with computer equipment, then here communication occurs with operator. You will need to provide him with the same information as when booking online.

This method has an undeniable bonus– the opportunity to consult with the operator. In a personal conversation, you still have the opportunity to ask a question and take advantage of the operator’s greater knowledge when choosing the right ticket.

How and where to get it?

Your booked ticket can be collected from any railway ticket office Russian Federation. To get a ticket at the box office you need to have:

  • Passport;
  • Order form;

And also, if the ticket has not been paid for, you will need money to pay the cost of the ticket and the station fee, which depends on the price of the ticket.

Instead of a passport A citizen of the Russian Federation may present the following documents to redeem a railway ticket:

  1. Birth certificate(for children);
  2. Seaman's passport;
  3. Military ID;
  4. Foreign passport(for foreign citizens).

A reserved travel document can be purchased not only at the ticket office. For example, by ordering courier delivery. However, with such a service you need to be prepared for additional costs.

You can print an already paid ticket yourself at special terminals, which are installed in the halls of train stations in large cities.

Payment options

Payment can be made as follows: cash, and by non-cash payment, bank card such as Maestro, Visa, MasterCard, Visa Electron. On sites that provide services for selling train tickets, most use various payment systems: Yandex Money, WebMoney, Qiwi, PayPal.

Hello, friends! Not long ago I needed to urgently travel from Moscow to Voronezh. There was simply little time. And I took the risk of breaking the old tradition (I always bought tickets only at the railway station ticket offices) and booked a train ticket via the Internet.

The procedure for booking train tickets via the Internet, purchasing and receiving them includes several stages. I will describe everything in order and tell you how I did it.

What is an electronic ticket?

First of all, a little about what it is - e-ticket(or e-ticket).

This is the same ticket as a regular travel document, but in electronic form, confirming that a transportation agreement has been concluded between the passenger and the railway company. The main difference between an electronic ticket is that it is not issued on paper and all information about it is stored in the carrier’s database.

So, in order to buy an electronic train ticket, we need a computer, the Internet, a bank card, passport data and, perhaps, a printer (the latter is desirable, but not necessary). Next, we perform a few simple steps... And we get the desired result, namely, an electronic train ticket.

Step 1. Registration on the Russian Railways website

Naturally, before you start buying a ticket, you need to register on the Russian Railways website.

Ticket.rzd.ru The official website of Russian Railways, designed for ordering and purchasing train tickets online.

We go to this site and register. To do this, fill out a form in which you indicate your login, password, personal data (last name, first name, patronymic), telephone number, your email address, age and gender.

After completing registration, you can then log in to the site using your username and password.

After this we move on to the next stage.

Step 2. Select route and date

Go to the “Purchase tickets” section. We enter the departure station and destination station into the proposed form.

You don't have to enter the full name of the stations, since the station search directory contains a complete list of them.

Since we can order an electronic ticket 45 days in advance, we find the desired date in this interval, select the date and click the “buy” button.

From the presented number of options, we choose the train that suits us in all respects (departure time, travel time, ticket price, availability of seats, arrival time).

The route we have chosen appears on the screen, indicating the categories of cars.

The table provides information on the availability of free seats and their cost for each type of carriage and class of service.

Of all the types of cars presented, you need to choose the most suitable option.

I needed a reserved seat carriage that would have a sufficient number of lower shelves (since this was very important for me).

And, in order to finally make my choice, I looked at the seat diagram in the selected carriage.

I chose a reserved seat carriage, which had only 2 free lower seats, since there wasn’t much to choose from (I bought tickets two days before departure), with payment for bed linen and indicating the boundaries of the desired seats.

I think that if tickets were booked in advance, there would be much more choice.

Step 5. Enter passenger information

On the same page you need to indicate your personal data (last name, first name, patronymic) and enter your passport details.

The passport number is entered without spaces.

If you need multiple tickets, you can order tickets for up to 3 more people in the “passenger information” table, not including you. To do this, click on the “Add” button and fill out all the fields.

Fill out information about children in the same way. Only when entering data on a birth certificate, the first letter is always Latin, then you type the text in Cyrillic. The fare is also indicated here - full, child without a seat, child.

Step 6. Passenger data verification

We check whether the passenger data (passport details, last name, first name, patronymic), train information and departure date are entered correctly.

A check mark is placed at the bottom indicating that the passenger is familiar with the rules for issuing, paying and returning a travel document.

Step 7. Checking the order

Before completing the order and paying for it, we check again and confirm all the information and correctness of filling. After payment for the order, no changes can be made. We are shown the amount to pay and the seat number. If everything is satisfactory, the order must be paid within 10 minutes.

How to pay for an e-ticket?

I did this using a MasterCard bank card. You can also use cards such as Visa, Visa Electron, Maestro.

Payment is made through the TransCreditBank payment gateway. To do this, you need to enter the bank card details in the form provided within 10 minutes: the name of the card owner in Latin, card number, card expiration date. This information can be found on the front of your card.

On the back side there is a three-digit card authentication code on the white stripe (CVV2 for Visa bank cards and CVC2 for MasterCard cards). This code is also entered in the appropriate field. If there are no such numbers on the card, then you cannot pay with such a card. We confirm, and after that a message comes saying that the payment was successful.

I paid with a Sberbank card, so the bank asked me to request a one-time password for authorization.

And after receiving the password, payment confirmation is sent to your phone.

How to get an e-ticket?

After payment, the order appears in the “my orders” column. You can see it there, open it, print the order form, copy it to your tablet or mobile phone, or write down the order number, consisting of 14 digits.

Without this number, you will not be able to issue a travel ticket, since the order form itself does not give the right to travel. It requires a boarding pass, which can be obtained electronically if you undergo electronic check-in.

But not all trains allow you to register electronically when purchasing a ticket online. In this case, you need to exchange the electronic ticket control coupon for travel documents. You can do this at the self-service terminal or at the ticket office about 30-60 minutes before the train departs.

I used the first method and issued my boarding pass electronically. In practice, this means that when boarding the train, I only had to show the conductor my passport, which I used to purchase the ticket.

Modern information technologies make it possible to order railway tickets online. Booking train tickets, according to the policy of Russian Railways OJSC, is technically and legally impossible today, but there is a scheme for purchasing train tickets on the Internet, which allows, if plans change, to refuse purchased tickets with minimal losses, which in turn is formal corresponds to the term “train ticket booking”.

Under the concept of “booking train tickets via the Internet,” many owners of services similar to ours include the usual purchase and delivery of train tickets. We, in turn, are frank with our users and speak frankly - booking train tickets in Russia, in the full sense of the word, simply does not exist. Of course, when you issue a ticket, at the last step, you will be asked to confirm the order or refuse payment. If the order is confirmed, the train ticket is reserved for you for 15 minutes, i.e. is withdrawn from circulation in the Express-3 system, thus, in essence, a train ticket is booked for a quarter of an hour. However, if you do not pay for the selected tickets within the allotted time, they are returned to the system and are available for repurchase at all railway ticket offices and online services.

An important distinctive feature of the service is a convenient interface, with the help of which you can select a specific train, type of car (reserved seat, compartment or luxury) and the most suitable seat (or several seats). In this case, the choice of seat can be correlated with the client’s wishes regarding the upper or lower bunk, the choice of a “male” or “female” compartment, the location of the seats of purchased tickets by car using seat numbers or the car layout (for example, prohibiting the offer of seats “near the toilet”).
Your next step in purchasing or, as they say, “booking Russian Railways train tickets online” will be filling in the fields with the necessary data: last name, first name, patronymic, number and series of passport or other identification document (military ID, international passport, seaman's passport, child's birth certificate).
The advantage of this type of “booking” over the telephone method is that the likelihood of an error when issuing train tickets is almost impossible. And the final step in the “railway ticket booking” procedure will be to select a payment plan for the ordered ticket and enter the contact information of the person who will pay for the ordered tickets. Payment options may include:
- payment through the WebMoney system;
- payment using electronic terminals;
- payment through points of sale of the Euroset company;
- in the near future - delivery to the required address with payment in cash to the courier (in this case you will have to pay for delivery as well);

The ticket price does not change depending on the payment method, since the commissions of payment systems are included in our service fee. If you refuse or change the terms of your ticket order before payment, you can simply start a new booking of train tickets, and the old order will be automatically cancelled. If the reserved tickets have already been paid for, then the procedure for returning or exchanging railway tickets is carried out according to the same procedure as when purchasing without booking via the Internet, at the ticket office of Russian Railways OJSC.

Millions of people in our country use railway transport. Many people are faced with a situation where there are no tickets at the box office for a specific date and for the required route. What should they do? The article talks about how to book a train ticket via the Internet, telephone and other methods.

Finally

We talked about how to book a train ticket in various ways. Which one is more convenient and simpler is up to you to decide. We wish you a safe journey!

You will need

  • - telephone;
  • - passport;
  • - birth certificates of children (if available);
  • - documents confirming benefits (if any);
  • - money to redeem booked tickets.

Instructions

Call your city's railroad agency or, if there isn't one where you live, the nearest one that does. You can find agency phone numbers on the Internet, telephone directories, or in the information desk of your railway department. .

Tell the operator when you would like, from where and where, what (or at the time you prefer to depart), the number of passengers, requirements for the type of car (CB, compartment, general, seated) and seats (upper, lower, side or not in reserved seat, not near the toilet), available benefits.

Based on availability, you will be offered possible options. Choose the most suitable one, dictate the passenger data (last name, first name and patronymic of each, passport numbers of adult passengers, birth certificates and documents confirming benefits, age of children, as this often affects the ticket price).

Agree with the operator on the redemption method tickets. If we are talking about courier delivery, it is only possible if you are in the same location as the transagency. You can usually buy a ticket at strictly designated ticket offices, but the queues at them are usually shorter than at regular ones. If you buy a ticket at the box office, please note that it is better to do this no later than an hour before departure trains.

note

You can book a train ticket by phone from 1 to 45 days before the train departs.

This opportunity is only available for tickets on domestic and interstate (within the CIS and Baltic) routes. International tickets can only be booked or purchased by visiting the ticket office in person.

There is an additional service fee for booking a ticket by phone. For example, in Moscow it is 300 rubles for each place. Delivery to the specified address will cost 600 rubles for each ticket.

With the advent of the Internet, many purchases can be made online. For example, you can buy yourself a train ticket without even leaving your home. To do this, you just need to register online on the website.

Benefits of electronic registration

You can travel on many trains in Russia, Ukraine and other CIS countries without old paper tickets. To do this, just buy a ticket online and register electronically on the website. When boarding the train, passengers will not be required to present the original letterhead paper ticket. All that is needed for electronic registration is a passport (or any other document through which the purchase was made) and a printed one (or its image on a mobile device). This is necessary so that the conductor reads the barcode by the scanner.

An electronic ticket has a number of advantages - you no longer need to go to the station to buy a ticket, you don’t need to stand in lines at the ticket office, etc. This is especially true when there are few tickets left for the desired flight - you can buy one of the remaining tickets in just a couple of minutes.

Electronic registration

Electronic registration (ER) is completed with literally one click of the mouse. You can get an ER for almost any Russian trains that travel within the country. It also doesn't matter whether you board at the intermediate station or at the starting station.

If, when purchasing a ticket on the website, the “ER” icon is displayed next to the flight, this means that electronic check-in is possible for this flight. After issuing and paying for the ticket, a letter with a boarding pass and e-ticket number is sent to the email address that was specified during registration. This coupon must be printed or photographed on your phone.

Also, when issuing an electronic ticket, you need to know some nuances. For example, you can go through the ER or refuse it at any convenient time, but no later than 60 minutes before the train departs from its starting station. If ER is no longer available, you still have time to buy a paper ticket.

If you need to take luggage with you, then you will not be able to go through the ER, since luggage transportation is processed only if you present a paper ticket. If a passenger was late for the train and had an electronic ticket, then the money will not be returned in this case.

If an electronic ticket has already been purchased, and then there is no longer a need to travel by train, then the ticket can be returned. You can do this on the website through your personal account or by following the link intended for returning a ticket from the letter that was received after paying for the ticket.

Tip 3: How and where to buy an electronic Russian Railways train ticket

Russian Railways in our country, as is known, is a monopolist in terms of rail transportation of the population. Perhaps this company deserves some criticism in terms of the quality of passenger service. But she still tries to keep up with the times. For example, relatively recently, Russian Railways customers were able to purchase train tickets, including long-distance ones, via the Internet. And therefore, the question of how to buy an electronic ticket is of interest to many citizens of the Russian Federation today.

The convenience of this method of purchasing a travel document is as follows:

  • the ability to make a purchase without leaving home;
  • the ability to choose the most convenient location.

A person who decides to purchase train tickets in this way will not have to go to the station or to the nearest ticket office with documents and money, or stand in a long line (for which Russian Railways is, of course, “famous”). Also, when buying a ticket online, the future passenger has the opportunity to choose a seat:

  • in a more comfortable carriage (with a dry closet and air conditioning, not the old type, with the ability to transport animals, etc.);
  • in the most suitable place in the carriage.

The last point will be most relevant for people traveling in groups. When purchasing online, they can choose nearby locations. Also, some seats in Russian Railways cars are more expensive, and some are cheaper. Therefore, you can make a choice based on your financial capabilities.

So how and where to buy an electronic train ticket?

The easiest and most reliable way to make such a purchase is on the official website of Russian Railways. The procedure in this case will first be as follows:

  • go to the Russian Railways website, register and log in;
  • enter the name of the point of departure into the “From” form (the form itself will give a hint after entering the first letters);
  • enter the name of the destination in the “Where” form;
  • select the departure date.

How to buy the actual e-ticket? To do this, simply click on the “Buy” button. After some time, the form will display suitable routes. If there are no trains on the selected date, we go back and try other nearby dates. Mark the desired route. In the route line on the right, click “Coupe” or “Reserve Cart”. Next, in the window that opens, select the number of the car you like using a marker. It is on this page that you can get information (in the form of icons) about the presence or absence of a dry closet and air conditioning in the carriage.

As soon as the marker is placed, a diagram of the carriage will open indicating the seat numbers. Let's see if there are any available and suitable ones. If not, choose another carriage. Click the “Proceed to entering data and selecting seats” button. After this, a form for entering passport data will open. You need to fill it out as carefully as possible. The form on the Russian Railways website, unfortunately, is not very convenient. If you wish, you can also insure yourself against accidents here by checking the appropriate boxes. But this is not necessary.

Next, at the very bottom, you will need to click on the places you like, and then on the “Reserve” button. If you did everything correctly, the ticket will be assigned to you for a few minutes. During this time, you must have time to pay for it using a bank card or electronic wallet - right here, on the Russian Railways website, in the usual way for the Internet. After this, the purchased ticket will appear in your personal account in the “Orders” section on the right.

How to take the train

Thus, it is clear how to buy an electronic ticket for a Russian Railways train. But how to use it? At most train stations, Russian Railways has provided the possibility of electronic check-in upon boarding. At such stations, the passenger does not need to perform any additional actions after purchasing a ticket. All that is required from him to board is to show the conductor on his smartphone the ticket from his personal account and his passport.

If electronic registration at the station is not provided or there is simply no smartphone or tablet, the electronic ticket will have to be printed on a printer. You can also arrive at the station early, taking into account the possible queue, and do the same through the cashier, telling him the payment transaction number (starting with 8) or through a special terminal. In this case, the conductor is presented with a printed ticket and passport upon boarding.
