The line of amazing sandy beaches of Saki stretches over a length of more than four and a half kilometers and goes far beyond the horizon. In addition, the city is known as a therapeutic mud resort.

Saki city

Well equipped for tourists, the city is located four to five kilometers from the Black Sea. To get to the usual beaches of Saki, which almost all start in shallow water, you need to get by bus or minibus. They come often. The shallow salt one (only one and a half meters) is very important. It was formed after the end of the Ice Age, and the natural depression was filled with sea water.

Silt was deposited at the bottom and preserved with salt. Over millions of years, most of the water has evaporated, and what remains is called brine. The layer of salt in it is five meters. There is no need to rush to go on an expensive trip to the Dead Sea. Lake Saki is twice as rich in minerals and nutrients. It is not for nothing that approximately a quarter of the city's population are disabled people who require constant treatment. The areas are equipped with numerous ramps, so that it will be easy for its guests to move around. Healthy companions and relatives of patients, when they are taking a break from procedures, will find entertainment and relaxation on the numerous beaches of Saki.

Golden Beaches

The coastline is simply paradise for those who take children on a trip. The clean and spacious beaches of Saki have a gently sloping, safe bottom. Tent cities and unorganized campsites are built near some of them. Tourists can stay for a day or stay longer if they like it. The sea is usually clean, the water is clear, unless, of course, it’s stormy.

How many beaches are there in Saki in Crimea

Let's start with the most distant one.

  • wild seaside towards Evpatoria;
  • Sun;
  • near the village of Pribrezhnoye;
  • Surf beach (Saki);
  • from the Yurmino sanatorium;
  • seaside between Saki and Novofedorovka;
  • Central and Robinson in Novofedorovka;
  • wild beaches towards the village of Frunze;
  • central beach in Frunze;
  • wild beach near the campsite;
  • seaside towards Novonikolaevka.

There are many places where you can relax freely. You can swim, sunbathe, mindlessly watch the rolling waves, admire the boundless sea, play with children, building sand castles, anywhere. Others have sun loungers and umbrellas, diving equipment, volleyball and football courts. In Saki and the villages nearby there is a place for everyone, and no one will be bored.

Characteristics of the coast

There is no developed infrastructure in the wild coastal areas in the vicinity of Saki. The beaches are wide and quite spacious. The sea is usually clean with well-warmed shallow water off the coast. The further away from the villages, the fewer people there are. Some are completely deserted. Here the traveler forgets about civilization and is completely immersed in unity with nature. The beaches between Frunze and Novonikolayevka pose some danger, since the coast here is steep and there is a danger of landslides. But not everyone is bothered by this. There are people who like to retire here and sunbathe without swimsuits.

On the central sandy beach of the village of Frunze, tourists will find parking, small shops, cafes, a locker room, and a volleyball court. There is also Lake Bogaily with healing mud. That is, here you can relax and receive treatment.

Don’t let the name “Robinson” confuse lovers of a comfortable stay. The beach is well equipped. There are canopies for shade, changing rooms, and a toilet. In addition, there is a pond where you can go fishing for a fee.

The central beach in Novofedorovka is easily accessible by bus from Saki. Or you can rent a house in the village and in five to fifteen minutes find yourself right on the sea. The territory is huge, there are no crowds of people. The bottom here is especially good, flat and flat. The depth is gained gradually. Here you don't have to worry about your child. There are cafes, toilets, changing rooms, sun lounger rentals, and water attractions. We have not described all of Saki’s beaches, since there are a lot of them. Now let's move on to a place where you can relax comfortably.

Recreation center "Priboy" in the city of Saki

Vacationers in this green town, filled with cottages for accommodation, have a lot more and unexpected things to offer. Free Wi-Fi will no longer surprise anyone, but there is also a computer club. And a collective farm market that operates on the territory is completely unusual. Climate change may require medical attention. She will be provided right there at the base. The evening can be spent in cafes, bars, restaurants, playing billiards or at discos. For lovers of singing, a karaoke room is available. In the afternoon after the beach, you can go shopping, both food and manufactured goods, visit the health center, where there are exercise equipment, a hairdresser, and experienced massage therapists. How does everything fit on the base? It's just that its area is large - ten hectares, so there is no crowding on it. It’s easy to find housing that suits both price and location. The rooms have different levels of comfort:

  • economy;
  • standard;
  • junior suite;
  • lux.

All cottages are located on three lines:

  • On the first line everything is located directly next to the beach.
  • On the second - in the center of Priboy, everything is surrounded by infrastructure.
  • The third is a quiet corner surrounded by tall trees providing transparent shade, flower beds with bright flowers and cozy gazebos.

From the salt lake, a light steppe breeze carries beneficial salts and herbal phytoncides. Right there, at the base, under the supervision of medical personnel, you can undergo the optimal course of mud therapy, learning not in words, but in practice, the miraculous properties of brine and Saki mud.

Beach of the recreation center "Priboy" in Saki

It is absolutely luxurious and stretches for a whole kilometer along the coast. Covered with golden sand, it is considered one of the. The bottom is sandy, the depth gains quite quickly. There is enough space for everyone, although entry is free. Services are varied: sun loungers, awnings, umbrellas, changing rooms, toilets, attractions, cafes and shops.

Saki beaches: reviews

All tourists note that the sea and beaches are amazingly clean. There are bins everywhere, so bags and bottles are not lying around anywhere. They are cleaned daily. This place is simply ideal for a holiday with children. The water is warm and clean, and there are attractions. It is good here for the elderly, as well as for those who are looking for peace and just to enjoy the sun and sea.

Saki, a small town on the western coast of Crimea, is best known for its mud, sanatoriums, large water park and entertainment complex on the seashore. This place, however, also attracts those who love quiet, wild beaches.

1. Dirt

Saki is primarily known for its mud. The bottom of the Saki salt lake is covered with a thick layer of healing mineral mud.

The mud and brine (salt-saturated water) of this lake help with atritis, arthrosis and other joint diseases, vascular diseases, some gynecological and neurological diseases, genitourinary diseases, and sexual disorders in men.

There are 15 sanatoriums and boarding houses in Saki that offer mud therapy, including the Poltava-Crimea clinical sanatorium (open all year round). To improve your health, it is better to go for at least 2-4 weeks.

However, mud therapy is a very serious method; it is contraindicated in case of bronchial asthma, diabetes, cancer, renal forms of hypertension, etc. Consultation with your doctor before the trip is required.

There are also mineral water springs in Saki. Here they produce slightly alkaline water “Crimean” (used for diseases of the digestive system and metabolic disorders).

2. Beaches

Although there is no sea beach in Saki (the city is 4 km from the sea), it is easy to get to the sea coast by bus or minibus.

You can sunbathe on equipped beaches in Novofedorovka or on the Saki bay-bar (the isthmus that connects Saki and Yevpatoria), where there are sun loungers and umbrellas, cafes, restaurants, toilets and entertainment for children, or you can drive further away and relax on wild beaches where there are few vacationers (mostly auto tourists) and there are no annoying sellers of corn and ice cream.

Two hours away by car is the Tarkhankut Peninsula (Olenevka village), one of the most beautiful places in Crimea. There are picturesque rocks and grottoes here, including the famous 100-meter grotto on Cape Bolshoy Atlesh.

3. Entertainment

On the highway not far from Saki there is the Banana Republic water park (8 pools and 25 attractions). A ticket for adults costs from 650 to 950 rubles depending on the time of visit, for children up to 130 cm tall - 650 rubles, for children up to 90 cm tall - free. Luggage storage - 100 rubles.

Between Saki and Yevpatoriya there is also a large entertainment complex "Solnyshko" (4.5 hectares) - there is a beach equipped with sun loungers and showers, rental points for water and sports equipment, water attractions, a diving center, sports grounds for playing volleyball, aquaball , football, streetball, etc.

4. Excursions

You can take many interesting excursions from Sak. Not far from the center there is the Museum of Antiquities of North-Western Crimea. Here you can see the archaeological excavations of the ancient fortress of Evpatorion (2nd century BC), the reconstruction of a Scythian dwelling and a museum where coins, ceramics, household items, finds from the necropolis and weapons are exhibited - a total of 240 exhibits.

In 20 minutes you can drive to Evpatoria. Among its attractions are the Khan-Jami Mosque, Tekie Dervishes (the only Muslim monastery in Crimea of the 15th-16th centuries), kariz (an ancient water supply system built in the 15th-14th centuries), etc.

In 1.5 hours you can get from Sak to Bakhchisarai and see the medieval fortress city of Chufut Kale, the Assumption Monastery, the Khan's Palace, etc.

5. Transport

It’s easy to get to Saki if you fly to Crimea by plane. Simferopol Airport is located 40 km from the city. A taxi from the airport to Sak will cost about 900 rubles, some hotels offer transfers.

You can also get there from the airport by minibus. Another option is to take a bus or trolleybus to the railway station, and from there take a regular bus or minibus to Sak. The journey will take 1.5-2 hours. There are also trains from Simferopol to Saki, but they are slow and stuffy.

For a long time I wanted to look into Saki and find out whether it is possible to organize a “wild” vacation in this Crimean resort town so that you can swim in the healing salty water of Lake Saki, and go to the sea every day, without being baked in the sun all day long (here I put hopes for the Resort Park), and also get a bonus - to improve the gastrointestinal tract with a local mineral spring. Last year such an opportunity presented itself. True, I spent only half a day in this wonderful town, all running and running, but I got the impression that a vacation in Saki would be calm, quiet, measured and beneficial in terms of health improvement.

This is the route I got: railway station - bus station, market, city center - Kurortnaya Street, local history museum - Resort Park - Salt Lake (with a search for a short road to the sea) - mineral spring... And back along the shortest route to the railway station. Everything in Saki is located compactly and within walking distance:

The station in Saki is small - like in Bakhchisarai. From the narrow platform I walked through the station lobby, found myself on a tiny station square and immediately dived into a short shady alley, which somehow quickly ended - I only had time to turn around to take a photo of the station building and walk along it a little:

Further across was Vokzalnaya Street (the trade in melons from cars confirmed that the station market was correctly indicated on the map on the left), I crossed it and along Prokhorova Street along the five-story “Khrushchev” buildings, after 300 km I reached the Evpatoria Highway:

Beyond the highway I had to cross a vacant lot along a concrete footpath, and after that I found myself in the private sector. The nearest street in the direction I need is Fontanniy Lane. At the very first gate there is a sign “for rent...” - the entire private sector is aimed at vacationers; you can find housing in Saki to suit every taste:

Fountain Lane led me to the bus station. Five minutes away is the beautiful St. Elias Church, which is worth looking at from all angles. There is also a central market and the central city square (Revolution Square) nearby - this is noticeable by the animation of people:

A pedestrian street leads from the square towards the Resort Park. Revolutions: many souvenir shops, a gazebo “Saki - a resort town” for those who want to take a photo as a souvenir (there is a large stone with a palm print in the center - you can put your hand and make a wish). On the left side of the street there is a park named after A.S. Pushkin, in which a monument to the poet is erected:

St. Revolution leads to the street. Resort, stretching along the entire Resort Park. Opposite is the entrance to the park, but it’s worth walking a little to the left to see a chic two-story mansion - the local history museum of the city of Saki, where you can get acquainted with the history of local mud therapy (at the entrance to the museum there is an ancient bathtub, carved from a solid mass of sandstone with an iron hoop in a circle, such there were baths in the Saki mud baths until 1880):

The resort park made a double impression - for the most part it is overgrown, neglected, abandoned, with dried up fountains, but the main thing is that it exists - a green oasis in the middle of the arid steppe lands. Monuments to L. Ukrainka and N. Gogol, who were once treated here, were discovered in the park. The territory of the park is divided between sanatoriums, access is free almost everywhere:

Lake Saki itself, famous for its unique mud and brine, stretches for five kilometers; I was able to see a small part of it in the area of the mud baths. Behind the mud baths, a road was discovered towards the sea through salty estuaries. I asked the locals if it was possible to walk to the sea - they said that it would be no more than an hour’s walk (3-4 km). I just think that it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to hide from the sun... As an option, walk in one direction: early in the morning there (back by bus) or in the afternoon there by bus (walk back in the evening).

Mud bath:

Next to the mud bath there is a hydrogeological regime-operational station (GGRES), created to control the lake back in 1926, behind it is a “farm” for extracting mud and delivering it to the mud bath. And there is that very road to the sea, which I already mentioned above:

We will say a word about Saki nature... But first, about the climate of Saki, which determines the characteristics of the local nature.

Before characterizing the climate of the western coast of Crimea, let's remember what the word “climate” actually means. This is a sequence of weather changes characteristic of a certain area, its long-term regime.

The usual weather pattern depends on the geographical conditions of a particular area, including:

  • latitude, which determines the angle of incidence of the sun's rays
  • air circulation features
  • the presence of bodies of water in the region, for example, the sea. The width of the coastal strip of land, which is influenced by the sea, is 10-12 kilometers.

Is there a sea in Saki?

The question “is there a sea in Saki?” worries everyone who is going to these parts for treatment. We are happy to answer this question. The city of Saki is located five kilometers from the sea, and a number of Saki health resorts, such as the modern sanatorium "Yurmino", are located directly on the seashore.

Climate features in Saki

The uniqueness of the area lies in the successful symbiosis of sea and steppe. The spacious Crimean steppes and Saki’s proximity to the sea form a unique coastal-steppe climate. To summarize, we can say that the climate in Saki is moderate continental, quite mild, arid, without noticeable fluctuations in air temperature. The average annual air temperature is +11.2 °C. There is little precipitation - 350 mm per year, relative humidity 77%.

Saki is the Crimean record holder for the duration of sunshine, which delights vacationers here for 2,500 hours a year. In this parameter, even the legendary Yalta is inferior to Saki, where the luminary spends only 2223 hours a year.

Winter in Saki is mild and moderately cold: the average temperature in the winter months is about 0 °C. The coldest month is February (-1 °C).

Summer in Saki is comfortably warm. The average summer temperature is +22 °C. The hottest month is July (average temperature +23.3 °C, maximum daytime temperature +38-+40 °C). Thanks to the combination of steppe and sea, there is no intense heat in Saki in summer. Daytime breezes bring pleasant coolness, and at night the air with the aromas of herbs, heated during the day, envelops you in pleasant warmth.

Saki: nature is richer than it might seem

The peculiarities of the climate in the vicinity of Saki are reflected in the local living and inanimate nature. After all, water bodies, soil, fauna, and flora are in close interaction with climate.

For those who come to Saki for the first time, nature may seem poor: there are no palm trees and cypresses, mountains and forests, which may have been imagined before the trip to Crimea. But don't rush to conclusions!

The Saki resort has unique natural resources. There are springs of healing mineral water, a legendary salt lake with healing silt mud, spacious sandy seaside beaches, and special air with the aromas of steppe herbs and the sea.

The wise nature of Saki deprived it of the wealth of flora. But it seems that she did this deliberately, realizing that people usually value what they themselves had a hand in. The Sakchans tried their best! Today the city of Saki is surrounded by greenery. And the pride of the resort is the delightful arboretum, founded back in 1890. About 80 species of plants from Asia, Europe, North America, having settled in Saki Park, delight, amaze, and amaze with beauty! The artificial reservoir “Swan Lake” and its feathered inhabitants restore peace of mind and the ability to enjoy life.

They also help nature in Saki health resorts. Visit the arboretum of the Yurmino sanatorium and you will understand what we mean. Well-groomed trees, shrubs, flower beds; murmuring fountains, cascading ponds...

Come without a doubt! The local climate, nature and the work of employees of sanatorium-resort enterprises have provided Saki with a reputation as a highly effective balneological resort.

The Internet is full of reviews about Saki. But all of them are either stupid or about effective treatment offered by the local sanatoriums and boarding houses. Even though we lived in the Sunny Beach boarding house, I won’t write about it. I'll just say that we liked it. I will devote most of the review to the leisure time that we spent in our free time from various procedures. I will also omit the story about swimming in the famous lake Sasyka with healing mud. Since we were just going on vacation, and not for treatment, we didn’t feel much of an effect. Although we swam a couple of times, not without it. The sea was of particular interest to us. I agree with many that in this regard, the Sakis were chosen a little incorrectly and not for their intended purpose. If you settle at least on Zavodskaya or Rabochy Lane, the sea will be about 3-4 kilometers away. We were lucky to live right on Morskaya, which not every tourist can afford. Firstly, because space on Morskaya is limited. Secondly, because living there costs more than on other streets. Although, if you compare the first line of Evpatoria and Saki, Saki is much cheaper. And the beaches, by the way, are much better, freer, and there is a choice - pebbles and sand. Many locals complained about the seashore being overrun by tourists. But they have nothing to complain about. In the summer, even in July, Saki is much freer than, again, in Evpatoria. So, our leisure time, despite the scarcity of entertainment, was far from meager. Almost every day we walked along the dam from the sea towards Kurortnaya in Saki. This is an exciting journey that I do not recommend for people with poor physical fitness. We went in the evening, and in the morning we relaxed exclusively at the sea. In the afternoon, not far from our boarding house, we took a minibus and went to the large water park Banana Republic. A very cool place that I advise you to visit not only for the sake of your children, but also for your loved ones. There are such slides that any Crimean water park would be envious. There are a lot of people, so it’s better to go in the morning. In Saki we visited a lot of different cafes, but I can’t mention a single one. And I’d like to mention the cool baked goods store Leader, located near Pushkinsky Square. By the way, few people mention Pushkinsky Square in reviews of Sak’s attractions. Although this is a very beautiful walking place. A popular place in Saki is not only Lake Saki, but also Kara-Tobe. There we also climbed everything up and down. In general, Kara-Tobe is an observation booth, some kind of naval facility. Located on the mountain. But they say that this is an ancient Greco-Scythian fortress that historians have been looking for for many years. There are many attractions in Saki, but all of them are not particularly famous. Worth a look though. Especially at the St. Elias Church. In general, we often went to the Novofedorovskoye village. It’s very cool there, if only because there’s a lot of entertainment and rentals on the beach. Although I wouldn’t live in the village itself. We spent such a simple holiday in Saki. Not to say that there was something grandiose, but the main thing is the sea, the sun and a good atmosphere, and it’s there!

Comments on the review:

Oh, we also vacationed in the Sunny Beach boarding house! We lived in the standard room in July from the 3rd to the 17th of this year. Maybe we've met? So, how do you like the boarding house? It seems to me that it is more for families with children. When we were resting, this was exactly the impression we got. Entertainment is exclusively for children, food is also designed for children. Do I think we should have gone for something more youthful? What do you think, Danil? In any case, I would recommend this boarding house to those of my friends who are going to Saki on a family vacation with children.

What a small world) We were also there in July. Most likely, we have definitely met. Yes, there are a lot of children's facilities in Sunny Beach. But somehow we didn’t bother about this. In the end, our goal was to find a comfortable place to stay near the sea. The Sunny Beach boarding house met our needs. The rest didn't really interest us. Although the court there and the volleyball court are just super, with excellent coverage! And the food is quite acceptable. Some of it tasted like homemade food. We rested in a 2-story log house, not in a room. Perhaps that's why we don't know each other. I was with company.

Ah, well then everything is clear) In any case, I’m happy that I spent my holiday in Saki. And it’s on Morskaya, because relaxing in the city itself is just hell. Walking to the sea for 2 hours a day there, and 2 hours a day back is simply an incredibly boring and tedious task. I can’t imagine how older people rent privately in the center of Saki. What do they expect, what comfort?

Polina, as you like. For example, we lived wonderfully on Zavodskaya. And the walk to the sea was not at all difficult for us. Essentially it's the same as walking around a big city. There is only beautiful nature around, a fragrant aroma, clean iodized air, and an atmosphere free of pollution from cars. And it’s not at all 2 hours to the sea, but only 30-40 minutes, if at a fast, even pace. But much cheaper than Morskaya. Large families like ours, alas, do not have this luxury even in Saki - living near the sea. But we had at our disposal not a cramped room, but a whole turnkey house.

I agree about the price of vacation. But our rooms were spacious. Yes, we had another drawback - the need to walk or drive 6 kilometers to the center of Saki. Because it wasn’t every day that we sat on the seashore. That's the only thing. But I would never go to Saki, because I don’t find anything interesting in this city. The beaches there are wonderful!

Saki is not a resort, but a real salvation for people with musculoskeletal disorders! 2 years ago my son, an athlete, was struck by an illness. The disease is not fatal, but it does affect the quality of life. The reason is constant pain, sometimes sharp, sometimes muffled. It is possible to live with such a disease, but for young people it is a punishment. My son was only 21 years old at the time. Naturally, as a mother, I was worried. Although he courageously denied that something hurt him. But sometimes I would look at him, and he would sit and wince. The joints in my legs hurt terribly. We settled in the private sector on Starikov and every single day we went to Lake Saki for procedures. My son immediately felt a sense of pain relief. We took the mud home and continued applying it for a while, until it was finished. At the moment there is no pain at all, only externally the sore reminds me of itself a little. We will go every year, and nothing will happen at all!

Did you consult with doctors before going? Because not everyone can swim and smear themselves with mud in this lake! Without medical advice, it was possible to harm the boy. Thankfully things turned out this way.

Of course, we consulted a doctor. More precisely, he advised us to Saki. We surfed the Internet, read reviews, and became familiar with the contraindications. That is, everything is as it should be. I would never go like that. And the owners of the private sector were so kind-hearted that we became friends with them forever. Very compassionate people, especially Galina Ivanovna, felt sorry for my son. They constantly fed him fruit and sweets. In general, our private sector turned out to be the most wonderful. Many people in Saki complained about inadequate conditions among private owners.

Yes, that’s exactly how it was with us. We went on holiday to Saki by car in June last summer. As far as I understand, my husband won’t take me there anymore. Although I would like to go on the dirt one more time or two. Accommodation in the guest house was booked in advance on the Internet. The photos on the website were simply wonderful. When we arrived, we were disappointed to discover that our room did not have half the comfort that we had seen. The photographs were processed beyond recognition, and people were deceived. Fortunately, we had a car and could go to another place without dragging suitcases along with us. We went to another guest house on Mendeleev Street. We couldn’t stay there either, because the owners turned out to be worse than ever. As a result, they found housing in Saki only on the third attempt.

No, not on that. Although they are all the same to me, to be honest. But definitely not on this. I wish I could write reviews and comments here!

We absolutely didn’t like it in Saki! Nonsense, not rest. We arrived and for 2 weeks all we knew was that we couldn’t find a place for ourselves. We visited all the local so-called attractions - St. Elias Cathedral, the Resort Park with an old abandoned mud bath, and even visited the local history museum for the sake of education, although we generally don’t like such places. There's nothing else to do there. Boring, and that's all. Prices are high, especially for medicines. The sea is far away. In general, it was just a disappointment, not a vacation. I was glad to be home.

Wow, so many comments, I haven't been here for a long time! Irina, that’s why my company and I chose to rent a bungalow on the territory of the Sunny Beach boarding house. Because there is more interesting there than in Saki itself. I don't mean attractions. In general: location by the sea, tennis court, beach volleyball, many vacationers in a good mood, discos, animation for children and adults. Plus excursions were organized. To any attraction of Sak and Crimea by direct bus, as they say, without leaving the ticket office.
